PCS Well: Moving in a God-Honoring, You-Flourishing Way

My friend, Joshua, has a saying, “The military is a fasttrack to maturity.”

I am convinced that if you engage with the Lord and His purposes for you in this military life, that statement will indeed ring true.

The PCS (Permanent Change of Station) offers an amazing opportunity to accelerate your spiritual maturity if you will intentionally engage with the Lord and His purposes throughout your move.

What follows are a few articles I’ve written to help you do just that. I encourage you to read at least the first 2-3 right now, and then revisit the others as you are driving/flying to your new duty station.

1. Don’t Leave Before You Leave. It is tempting in the PCS season to “check out” prematurely- don’t do it! In this article, I offer practical ways to stay where you are while preparing for the move ahead.
2. Find Your Church First. Where is “Find a Church and Join It” on your moving to-do list? Let’s move it to the top!
3. How to Find a Church in Your Next Military Community. I wrote this article over on The Praetorian Project website. I offer practical things you can do before you move to find your new church family.
4. Seek the Welfare of Your New City. The move is not over once you have driven into your new town. It is now time to invest in your new city!
5. Be Where You Are: Finding Peace in the Present. Lastly, a short article to remind you to be present where you are. Perhaps this is a timely reminder for all of life, but one that is especially important as you settle into your new place.
