“The unexamined life is not worth living.” – Socrates
I typically begin these articles with a Bible verse, but this time a quote from a philosopher…
It is time for you to examine your life- specifically the last year of it. Your goal is to capture all that the Lord has been teaching you along this deployment journey.
You wouldn’t want to miss such a thing would you? Imagine the Lord put you on this journey to teach you a few things. It would be a travesty to waste such an opportunity.
Take time to think through these questions by yourself.
Then arrange a time (or multiple times) to get together and discuss them as appropriate with the various members of your Deployment Support Team.
- What did God teach me over the past year?
- What passages of the Bible did God use most in this season?
- What have been my biggest wins?
- What have been my most difficult challenges?
- What sins do I need to confess? With whom do I need to confess them?
- What else do I need to talk about?
You may be saying, “Finally, a short article!”
Yup, it is now time for you to write. Grab a journal, head to a quiet place and wrestle with these questions. Then arrange times to talk with your spouse and others as appropriate.
I love you guys,
Brian O’Day
